Floral and Feminine

Florals are so feminine and fun, and you can rock them for day or night. Since we are in Spring, I definitely recommend adding some floral pieces to your wardrobe. To tie into my last post about essentials, or the key pieces in your wardrobe, this outfit holds some prime examples. These Versace black pumps are one of my fave go to pair of shoes when I need a classic black pump to finish off my look, and as my blog continues I can promise you will see these pumps more than once. I do not want nor do I think it is necessary for anyone to break the bank in the name of fashion. I believe in wearing many things more than once, I'm not that girl that won't wear something twice. I just mix and match my essential pieces differently to create new looks and a big part of my blog will show you how many different ways you can use the same pieces over and over and get totally different looks :) I also always wear these Karl Lagerfeld Sunglasses and that's one of my fave go-to purses from Jimmy Choo.

Build your wardrobe around key pieces.

So for this post I want to talk about building your wardrobe around key pieces, and specifically accessories. For example I wear this Lanvin belt with everything. It was an investment piece. I also wear these Chloe clogs quite a bit. If you invest in a few key pieces you love you can mix and match them with highs and lows in your wardrobe and always have a nice finished look. So for example, you don't have to spend a ton of money getting every single pair of designer shoes you spot. Save up, and invest in things you know you'll wear multiple times. This is always my advice, if you see a fun neon green lace up shoe at Forever 21 for $30 go ahead, you'll wear them maybe once or twice and maybe resell them at Crossroads Trading Company. But if you see a pair of classic black pumps you just have to have from say, Chanel, that would be the time to save up and splurge because you want to think about comfort and quality for the key pieces in your wardrobe. You want something that is comfortable and going to hold up if you plan on making it one of your go-to items. So the higher fashion designers are more expensive, but the quality is what makes that splurge worth it. For example, these Chloe clogs are genuine leather, genuinely comfortable, I wear them all the time and they still look brand new. So find some key pieces, and don't splurge and spend $800 on a pair of shoes you think you'll only wear once. Thats my advice :)

My very first Fashion Blog!

Hello World! My name is Casey Konkel and this is my new blog! I've been posting my pictures on Instagram for a few months now and it is getting a good response so I have decided to make this a legitimate blog called Fashion and Philanthropy. Check out #fashionandphilanthropy on Instagram and you can see my stuff :) First of all, I want to start off by saying that I love Fashion. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts In Musical Theater and have been singing dancing and acting my whole life. I am an artist. In every sense of the word. Aside from the performing arts I also draw, paint, design and make clothes (I mostly hand sew my work), style, do makeup, write poetry, write music, etc The list goes on. I'm an artist and I support all of the arts. Fashion is art. I am also a huge humanitarian and think we all need to come together to make this world a better place. We need to unite to spread love, light, stop the hate and inspire people to make a difference. We need to inspire growth, evolution, compassion, ambition and love. So this is the purpose of my blog. I am so excited to share the fashion and I hope the fashion is enough to bring people in, grab their attention and walk away with the inspiration of the quote as well as some new creative fashion ideas! I hope you guys like it and I'm excited to start this journey with you! Thank you!!
